The "uncanny valley" thing? Not sure I totally agree, as I've always thought of that as being a "negative" thing.
I'm hoping that this captures a character in a illustrative cartoony way, and not in the Polar Express way, which I find totally creepy and unappealing.
Hey Willie, I haven't been by for ages; too busy to browse and less time on a computer. Even more amazed at your digital drawing and painting skills, and your...fecund...imagination. Hope all's well!
Willy, you are right. The Polar Express characters looked like dead reanimated bodies, and ever so slightly malformed. Not too much, only enough to make them disturbing.
This guy looks snuggly, even though he's monstrous.
I've tried watching Polar "Excess" 3 times and can't get past the first 5 minutes. I've seen various sections while it was on TV over the years and I find it so unappealing.
I am Willy Ashworth, and I have been working in the animation biz in Toronto since 1973!!
Please enjoy your stay here, feel free to drop a comment or two, and remember that all the art work you see here, unless otherwise stated, has been drawn and conceived by me, and to nick it without permission would just be so wrong.

This looks extremely real in a disturbing 'uncanny valley' sort of way. Is this more Sketch Book Pro?
Hi KW
SBP indeed.
I really enjoy drawing with it for sure.

Willy, you are wise to avoid it. I got rooked into going to see it. It's been several years now and I still haven't forgiven somebody for it.
